This charming gold foil matchbook comes from Ridgewood’s historic “Two Kioodles” tavern. The spot had once been the site of Brooklyn’s longest running brewery (121 years of operation), before it was reopened under the unusual name in 1938 — kioodle, pronounced “key-oodle,” is the German word for a small, yippy dog. It became a beloved neighborhood drinking hole, even gaining popularity among German tourists, until its closing in the 1980s. Framed and matted, this matchbook makes for a stylish piece of decor, a good conversation starter, and an understated way to declare your doxie love.
